Art, Design and Costume

Photography

Photography has consistently been one of our most popular subjects at ESA from Day 1. The long line of talented and unique image creators who have passed though this course now include successful portrait photographers, event & wedding photographers, street photographers and graphic/UX designers.

Our photography courses explore the intersections between photographic technologies, culture and artistic expression. There will be opportunities to try varying styles and mediums including analogue 35mm photography (developed on-site in our dark room) and digital cropped-frame/full-frame photography with post-production in Photoshop. Students will also learn to understand the core image-taking mechanics of modern photography through use of the exposure triangle.
